Chiang Rai walking street
Is located in the Chinese part of the city. The main Thananai road is closed to traffic on Saturday nights, making way to a vibrant market. This is true cultural immersion at its best as this is a tour that is not really known about by most Western tourists visiting Chiang Rai.
At night, visitors will see many Chinese lanterns lighting the way into a world of Thai dancing, delicious street food, karaoke, Thai music, market stalls and places to drink. You can also find handmade souvenirs local to the region and interact with some friendly characters.
It is said that you should allow 4 hours to go from end to end of the street as it becomes very busy from 6 p.m until late.
For a truly local taste of Chiang Rai, this is one tour not to be missed.
