    Thailand's Northern Most Market Town

Mae Sai Market

Mae Sai is Thailand’s northernmost town and is situated very close to Myanmar (Burma) being connected by a very short bridge visitors often pass through Mae Sai en route to Myanmar , although the town of Mae Sai is well worth a visit if you want to see some typical Thai life and this is a great place to come.

If you love shopping and negotiating for some great bargains then the market at Mae Sai  is the place for you. As the town during the day time is basically one big open-air market displaying many colours and interesting alleyways where you can find many things, bags, clothes, souvenirs, although I am sure you could find anything you wanted here.

There are also some great restaurants here, most notably a restaurant that lies underneath the bridge between Thailand and Myanmar where you can view the people crossing the border.

Mae Sai is well worth a visit and most enjoyable as there is something here for everyone.
