Pattaya walking street

Perhaps the most famous tourist attraction and streets in Thailand is Pattaya walking street. With Thai people, and foreigners flocking from far and wide to experience everything this place has to offer.

During the morning and afternoon Pattaya is a normal touristy Thai city. With the hustle and bustle of traffic and people going about their daily business and going to the beach. But after dark the main streets are closed to traffic and the roads become open to pedestrians.

This is when all the fun begins; it’s certainly an eye-opener where anything goes. The main reason that people go to Pattaya walking street is for the night life.

You will find pumping music that goes on until the early hours of the morning, neon lights, noisy drunk people, live music, go-go bars, massage parlours, pubs, clubs, girls pole dancing, lady boys, restaurants and prostitution.

It’s a funny place that can be exciting. Just remember not to judge it, and just experience it for what it is, whether it’s right or wrong depends on people’s personal views.

The fact is it’s a full on party town where you can indulge in anything you wish.

In recent years Pattaya has tried to clean up its image and focus a lot on family tourism, and yes there is a side to this town where the action never ends. But it is also possible to find high-class establishments and quiet out of the way places where you can enjoy your evening.

Whatever your budget, you can find nice Thai restaurants serving tasty food and nice quiet local bars playing every type of live music from jazz to rock ‘n’ roll.

Access for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility is actually pretty good as the main parts of Pattaya are quite flat with a lot of places becoming more accessible all the time.

Recently there has been an introduction of bump walkways which make it easier for wheelchairs to manoeuvre between paths (sidewalks).

Some of the areas and establishments on Pattaya walking Street may not be accessible. So if you are a wheelchair user and you would like to have access to everywhere. It may be worth bringing your own lightweight ramp.

*Wheelchair access easy – moderate
